Poitou Charente is famed as the second sunniest area of France. The Main House has a large front terrace with central front door leading into the large open plan kitchen, dining and living room, the utility room off the kitchen (with WC off it), leads into the large conservatory which overhangs the river and has stunning views along the river and across the fields, where you see Kingfisher, deer and wild boar. Upstairs are 4 good sized bedrooms, bathroom and WC. We have a very large Workshop / garage attached to the end of the house. There is a large south facing terrace on the back of the house which looks along the lawn towards the orchard and to the side is the swimming pool. The 2 Gites face the front of the property and have there own gardens. The other room is a family room with a double bed and bunk beds (by popular demand) The very large barn is used as a games and meeting room and has in the past been used for wedding receptions and party's. It also houses the linen and general stores and washing machines. The Grounds, nearly 3 acres, are mainly laid to lawn, we have an orchard with apple, pear and fig trees, there are also nectarine, peach, kiwi, Walnut and other fruit trees dotted around the premises. There is a wooded area, paddock, and large river fed pond with Trout, Perch, Bream and other fish in it.
